Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Gex Williams for State Senate collects on this website, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we will answer.
What you give us
This site has two forms.
The Join Team Gex form on the Get Involved page asks for your name, email address and ZIP code, and lets you add a phone number and a message if you choose. It also records which ways you want to help: requesting a yard sign, volunteering, hosting a gathering, inviting Gex to an event, or receiving campaign updates.
The form on the Contact page asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message.
For both forms we also store the date and time you submitted it and the country your request came from, which our hosting provider reports automatically.
We use this information to respond to your request. We add you to campaign emails only if you select “Receive campaign updates.” If you give us a phone number, we use it only to follow up on your request.
When you submit either form, we also send a copy by email to campaign staff through Microsoft 365, which hosts the campaign's email.
What is collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and which links they use. It sets cookies in your browser and records things like the pages you view, the site that referred you, your general location, and your device and browser type. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We load it from Google's servers.
Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
To block spam, our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks your browser for signs of automated activity, so Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic information about your browser and device. It does not read what you type into the form and is not used for advertising. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy terms (opens in a new tab).
Donations
Donations are processed by WinRed, a separate company, on their own website. When you click a donate button you leave this site. We never receive or store your card number or bank details. What happens on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.
Embedded video
Some pages embed YouTube videos. We use YouTube's no-cookie player, which does not set advertising cookies unless you press play. If you play a video, Google may collect information under its own policy.
Your choices
Email [email protected] and we will tell you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to give a reason. Every campaign email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.
If you would rather not be counted in our analytics at all, most browsers let you block or clear cookies, and Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on (opens in a new tab) that turns Google Analytics off everywhere.
Children
This site is meant for voters and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a form, email us and we will remove it.
